A model for communications master-contractor success factors to analyze the perceived gap (Case study: Downstream oil projects)
Author(s):
Abstract:
This study investigates fitness of a perceived gap model of existing status-ideal status for communications between masters and contractors in downstream mega projects in oil industry. This model explains the relationship between effective factors on communications via measuring the respondents` perceptions from the gap between existing status and ideal situations. The effective factors have been extracted from literature review and Delphi method. These effects were measured by simple surveying. The results were analyzed by the Exploratory and Conformatory Factor Analyses and Structural Equations Modeling. Based on factor loads and loading style of components, five latent factors were extracted and named. This model explains relationship between effective factors in communications between master and contractor in the current situation, the current gap, and the desirable situation in oil industy. The results of this study can affect the views of managers and staff of master and contractor departments to recognize and mange the effective factors on their communications.
