A Survey Study of Murder in Fars Province (From the Viewpoint of Time, Place, and Crime Tools)

Fars province is located in the south-west of Iran and lies between latitudes 27°/2́ to 31°/42́ and longitudes 50°/42́ to 55°/26́. The province is bordered on the north by Yazd and Isfahan provinces, on the west by Bushehr and Kohgiluyeh-o-boyerahmad provinces, on the south by Hormozgan and on the east by Kerman province.It occupies an area of 122,661 square meters and has a population of 4,336,878 people. By 715 cases of murder during the years 1383-1385 in Fars, the province is the first in state ranking. The high rate of this crime especially in the province's capital, Shiraz, with 327 instances (45.73% of the whole cases in the province) clearly shows the necessity for criminological researches on the causes and motivations behind committing such crime.So in this article we consider the roles of "Time", "Place" and "crime tools" in committing murder in Fars Province.
