The relationship between communication skills and emotional intelligence of girl Students in Second High School

Introduction The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between communication skills and emotional intelligence Among female students. 300 female students in second year from Yazd high schools were selected through a cluster sampling. They answered Communication Skills and Bar-on emotional Intelligence questionnaires. Data were analyzed based on co relational matrix and multivariate regression. Results showed significant correlation quotients between different aspects of communication skills and emotional intelligence apart from the dimensions of empathy and responsibility، however there was no relation between academic major with Communication skills and emotional intelligence. Results of the study suggest that schools train students’ emotional intelligence and communication skills as part of training programs in education.
