To this end, 24 individuals were randomly chosen from clients of Bab al-Hawaj Counseling Center in Meybud City. They were divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group was provided with ten 90-minute training sessions on Islamic ontology teachings for five weeks but the control group received no training. Both groups completed the short form of Enrich Marital Satisfaction Scale at three different periods: before the experiment, immediately after the experiment and a month after the experiment. Having analyzed the data, the research finding confirms that Islamic ontology teachings have significant effect on increasing the level of marital satisfaction of participants in experimental group. This increase was also observed in the follow-up stage. We conclude that providing spouses with religious teachings based on Islamic ontology is a proper way of increasing their marital satisfaction.
