Study of components of sustainable development in view of West Mazandaran secondary education administrators

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to find out the degree of knowledge of school principals about the components of sustainable development. The sample population consisted of 99 female and 109 male school principals selected by clustered random sampling. A researcher designed questionnaire was used to collect data with a reliability of 0.95 by using Cronbach's Alpha. Kolmogroff Smirnoff test, one-group t test, a multivariate analysis of variance test (ANOVA) and t-test of two independent groups were used for the analysis of data. The results show that manager's knowledge of the components of sustainable development is desirable. Managers are familiar with social, economic, institutional and environmental factors. The difference is not significant, but the service manager and master's degree holders in terms of familiarity with environmental component, differs with a significant difference (p≤ 0/01). Also, the degree of familiarity with the components of sustainable development is significantly different between genders.
