The Effect of Training in the Field Of Primary Health Care (PHC) on Knowledge of Kashan Health Workers (Behvarz) 2004-2011

prevention of disease and health promotion dependent on people''s awareness about hygiene. Considering the important role of health workers (Behvarz) in promoting the people''s knowledge and encouraging them to follow hygiene، this study، has been done to determine the effect of health education program on knowledge of Kashan health workers about primary health care (PHC). This quasi-experimental study (with pre-test & post-test design) was performed on all health workers in Kashan city during 2004-2011. Date collection tool was a questionnaire including demographic characteristic and knowledge level based on likert criteria. Educational content about PHC has been presented by 11 one-hour session annually. The obtained data were analyzed in SPSS 16 and Excel. The means of numbers، age and working experience were 54، 36 and 15 years. The results of the study indicated that the mean of the knowledge scores of post test was statistically more significant than pre test (p<0. 005). The highest and lowest scores of post tests were concerned to drought educational theories and models (%53)، and training methods of health volunteers (%15). This research indicated that hygiene education has an important role in promotion of health workers knowledge، therefore it is suggested to design more training programs related to PHC in health education centers (Behvarzi).
