Analysis of Urban Accident Data to ReduceFatalities (Case Study of Qazvin City)

Abstract:
Road traffic accidents are one of the major causes of fatalities in many countries. Approximately 1.2 million people lost their lives annually around the world due to these types of accidents. However the number of injuries of traffic accidents reaches more than 50 million people around the world.Increasing use of vehicles and roadusers are the extensive and major issues that will include diverse and complex aspects.Importance and complexity of the issues requires an effective analysis of accidents to be carried out.Nowadays in all societies,both developed and developing much emphasis is on providing accurate statistics. Access to accident data within urban area to provide an appropriate solution is no exception. In this paper,accident data based on parameters such as cause of accident,type of vehicle collision based on month, day andalso based on population and level of driver’s education are analyzed.Data collected and analysisshows that having accurate data can have significant impact on the steps and measure for reduction of fatalities andaccident reduction rates.
