Priorities of medical education research based on delphi method in medical school of Guilan university of medical sciences

Abstract:
Introduction

Determine research priorities as a scientific process and principle of strategic planning and research sturcture devote resources for the best assigned. Given the importance and role of scientific research in micro and macro planning and also considering the basic needs of society in the direction of research should be relevant، the aim of this study was to determine research priorities in education from the viewpoint of the medical school faculty.

Methods

This cross-sectional study on 30 individuals have expert faculty of Guilan University of Medical Sciences. Medical research environment was in Rasht. Data collection method، Delphi method was conducted in three stages. Collected data using SPSS software version 13 was analyzed. After calculating the scores of all participants on each title، titles that had a higher score as a high priority issue in the domain were concerned.

Results

Results of the consensus، including 89 reserch subject in six priority areas of research training as was provided. After scoring and analysis of different areas، eventually about six titles in different areas of consensus was achieved. Respectively in the final stage in each domain: educational planning 39 subject، educational evaluation 19 subject، Faculty 13 subject، continuing education 5 subject، educational management 10 subject and talented students 3 subject were confirmed.

Conclusion

It seems that in order to providing the necessities of community، determine medical education research as one of basic objectives of strategic planning in education as well as coordinate educational development office (EDO) activities with others is necessery.
