Scientific marvels of the Quran regarding grape, pomegranate and olive

Abstract:
The paper studies 99th verse of Chapter al-Anam and other related verses that treat the three fruits of ‘Grape, Pomegranates and Olives’. As for as the phytology (botany) and the climate where the three fruits grow, are concerned, many similarities and differences exist between them. When they are consumed concurrently, they have either contradictory or complementary medicinal properties. The word of ‘colors’ in various verses of the Quran has been interpreted as visual [outward] color; for the plant pigments (such as carotenoids) have priceless medicinal properties and their consumption through fruits can guarantee one’s health. The term ‘Thamara’ not only means fruit but also flowers and plants. The writer, from his study of the Quranic teachings, has drawn the conclusion that the plants include various kinds and are of high significance in one’s diet. But the way to good health is to consume them moderately.
