Al-Kuleyni and Narrations about the Prophet's mistake

One of the most exact and controversial aspects of the infallibility of the Prophet of Islam might be his protection from error and forgetfulness. Muslim theologians are divided into two groups of proponents and opponents of the infallibility of the Prophet. Many treatises have been written about this topic and significant parts of religious books are related to it. This discrepancy is due to some verses and narrations about mistake and forgetfulness of the Prophet. Al-Kuleyni has mentioned some of these narrations in his book، Al-Kāfi. They can be classified into three groups: The Prophet’s remaining asleep at the time of Fajr prayer; 2) His mistake about the units of his prayer; and 3) His unintentional look at a strange woman. According to these narrations، Al-Kuleyni has not believed in the infallibility of the Prophet. However، his analysis about this topic is not clear. This study investigates different aspects of these narrations.
