Message:
Abstract:

One of the fundamental activities of ministry of education and parent–teacher association is the realization of active participation of parents in school affairs. The current study aimed to investigate the parents’ participation rate in schools and offer practical tactics to increase their participation so as to determine the reasons for the decline of their participation. The population of the study consists of 173 educational managers and 360 parents, from Mallekan town, who were randomly selected in the study. The data collection instrument was two researcher-developed questionnaires dealing with school affairs. To analyze the research data, Chi square, t-test and Pearson Coefficient were used. The research findings suggested that there was a significant relationship among parents’ ignorance from the benefits of participation, income, age, vocation, evidence, parents’ ignorance from their rights, and educational managers’ attitudes, poor functions of educational personnel and participation rate. However, it was indicated that there wasn’t any significant relationship between parents’ sex and participation rate.
