Developing Possible and Preferable Futures for National Media (IRIB) in the Internet

Given the national and international presence of IRIB, it is necessary for this organization to remain competitive in future and fulfill its objectives by adapting itself to international developments in communications field. The present research uses Delphi method to examine the views of 20 media experts about the possible and preferable futures of the National Media in the cyber space. According to the findings, the possible futures for the IRIB are as follows: parallel presence in the Internet with 86.35 percent stands in the first place, complementary presence in the Internet with 64.59 percent stands in the second place, absolute presence with 60.31 stands in the third place and finally, shadow presence with 37.23 percent stands last. Among the possible futures, parallel presence in the cyber space with 94.44 percent was chosen by the experts as the most probable future within the next 10 years.
