Social Class and Performance of the 14th- 15th Majlis Members for Bandar Abbas

Abdollah Gallehdari and Dr. Mostafa Mesbahzadeh were two candidates from Bandar Abbas who managed to win seats in the 14th and 15th Majlis of Iran, respectively. Mesbahzadeh stood for the 14th Majlis elections; however, he failed to enter the Majlis because the chairman of Intelligence Bureau of the British Embassy in Iran, Alan Charles Trott recommended Gallehdari. While Mesbahzadeh had received his PhD in law from France, Gallehdari was a man of mediocre education from a powerful family of landowner living in Southern Iran.This article seeks to study the social class and performance of the 14th-15th Majlis members for Bandar Abbas.
