Abstract:
Achieving sustainable and comprehensive development requires pre-conditions and requirements that cannot be achieved without providing them. Therefore, for a national sustainable development, each country needs to pay attention to rural development and rural villages. Rural development does not merely mean to have economic growth without social and cultural developments. Promoting the awareness and participation of villagers is an important part of the process in rural development. In the contemporary world, opportunities and successes of people basically depend on what institutions exist and how they function in society. The media is one of the most important and influential institutions. This paper aims to review the role of media in rural development. To collect information, library resources, Internet resources and related articles were used. The results showed that the use of media in rural areas is less than in urban areas. In addition, the gap in media consumption is visible in all three types of Medias as written or traditional and modern.
