Dimensions, Components and Indicators of the Pattern of Using the Internet to Deepen the Islamic Awakening

Awakening in Muslim countries is an emerging phenomenon whose inception and expansion was particularly aided by information transmission and news broadcasting. One of the most effective tools of news and information circulation is the use of the cyberspace or the Internet. Examining the dimensions, components and indicators of this novel medium, the present study seeks to explore and explicate its role in deepening the Islamic Awakening and offer the obtained results within the framework of a model based on information services, discourse development and creation of the desired atmosphere. This study has been conducted through the descriptive-analytic method and its findings have been validated by 60 experts and authorities in the fields of communications and culture. From the viewpoint of the respondents, 4 major dimensions, 12 components and 35 indicators are effective in using the Internet to deepen the Islamic Awakening, which made it feasible for the researcher to design the model.
