Public Diplomacy in Foreign Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Abstract:
Public diplomacy is the process of communication of one country to the public of other countries in order to explain its ideas and ideals, and to explore other’s ideas, culture, and norms. The strong discourse of the Islamic Revolution is a prominent instrument for making norms and influencing the neighboring regions and the Islamic world. The main question is on what elements the public diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its cultural appearances in the Middle East is based? The Assumption of this article is that elements of civilization and culture, religious values, media, education and political behavior are the sources of Iran’s soft power and public diplomacy. The cultural agenda of the I. R. Iran in the Middle East is based on these variables. The present article aims to study the elements of Iran’s soft power and its education and media strategies in the Middle East.
