Pathology of the issue of chastity and hijab among undergraduate female students at Allameh Tabatabai University

One of the important issues in the field of women studies from the viewpoint of the Qur''an on «coverage» is that coverage of the body has been put as an inborn need in them. Muslims paid special attention to Chastity in coverage as the most obvious symbol of Islamic cultural society from the beginning of Islam and at different Islamic periods. The women''s coverage is one of the requirements of the religion of Islam that has been explicitly considered as obligatory by the Qur''an and the traditions of the Prophet and Imams (peace be upon them) and in the words and fatwas of jurisprudents to its necessity and its quality. With all the importance and position that the issue of coverage in the religious culture، today lack of chastity in coverage as a serious cultural and social damage among the female students due to their age، educational and cultural background is more sensitive. Why don''t some of the students observe chastity in coverage? This research sought to find the missing link and a meaningful relationship between the questions as well as the theory of the research and the lack of observance of chastity in coverage in some of the undergraduate students of Allameh Tabataba''i University. The method of this field research was the use of the questionnaire. Ideological weakness، lack of commitment to performance of religious devotions، the family system، seeking beauty، as well as society and mass media are among the important factors involved in the non-observance of chastity in coverage among the population of the statistical research.
