A Semiotic Approach to the Concept of Color in the last Holy Book

The significance of a semiotic analysis of Quranic words are due to the fact that firstly، it is a miracle of the last prophet، Mohammad، which has invited its readers to make an equivalent Sura، if they are able to. Secondly، to omit Quranic words and substituting others instead، makes the whole meaning ruined. Beside others، words referring to “colors’ in Quran are of utmost importance. The mentioned colors in Quran are either basic- identified in Physics- or mixed ones- fully in accordance with nature. The aim of this study is to semioticaly analyze and to discover the meaning of words related to “colors” which may attract the attention of Quranic scholars to observe the nuances of meaning in this regard.
