Abstract:
Media is one of the most challenging areas discussed in the field of applied ethics. In the twenty-first century with the rapid pace of communication technology and the increasing power of numerous and diverse media to influence, complex moral issues have appeared in the media. The newspaper as the oldest form of mass media with its unique characteristics and influence has always played an important role in informing the society.The present study, applying a descriptive,analytical approach, aims at expressing the most important issues in regard to the media in general and journalism in particular and then seeks to reply some of the questions posed about plagiarism. Later the issue is dealt with from the perspective of Quranic verses and Islamic traditions. Some of the questions discussed in this study are: What effects does plagiarism have on both journalists and readers? What are the examples of plagiarism? Are journalists authorized to fictionalize?
