Research and Development Strategy Formulation in Amin Police University

Scientific progress is the result of a coordinated and coherent process that stems from research. Inorder to accelerate the movement of amin Police University towards this perspective, this reseach attempts to design and develop an appropriate strategy for research and development using an appropriate model of strategic planning. In terms of its objectives, the present study is of an applied research type and in terms of methodology it is of a descriptive research type. The statistical population of the study includes 80 decision maker managers who have all been questioned. The data were collected using questionnaire. To formulate the research and development strategies the IE and SWOT matrices were employed. To determine the status of the university in terms of research and development, the sum of the final internal and external factors was placed in major strategy matrix. It was also determined that the status of the university was in the initial transgressive position meaning the superiority of strengths over weaknesses and opportunities over threats.
