Investigating the Effect of Physical and Social Factors on Sense of Insecurity in Public Places in Kermanshah

Since public places are considered as factors for the occurrence of urban abnormalities resulting in the lack of security in the city, investigating the physical and social aspects of insecurity in public places is a necessary and significant matter. The aim of this study was to investigating the effect of physical and social factors on sense of insecurity in public places in Kermanshah City. In terms of methodology this study is a descriptive-analytic research and in terms of its objectives it is of an applied research type. The statistical population of the study included the citizens of Kermanshah City. Using Cochran formula and cluster sampling method, 322 individuals were selected as the samples of the study. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software. Findings and The findings show that in terms of the sense of insecurity there is a significant difference among males and females in three groups of young, middle age, and adult people. There is a positive correlation between social and physical factors and the sense of insecurity in public places and the most impact on sense of insecurity in Kermanshah City’s public places is related to the physical factors and then to social factors.
