Abstract:
Purpose
the success of an organization’s employees depends on many factors including personnel’s intelligence. Despite numerous studies in this area, a clear and definite pattern for emotional intelligence for the competent police has not been developed yet that based on it the recruiting, education and human resource authorities can direct their activities. Thus, the main objective of this research is to develop the intelligent pattern for the competent police in I.R.I Police missionary groups.Materials And Method
the research population contains all the I.R.I Specialist Police officers that are specified as successful personnel by the commanders. Among them, 548 officers were randomly selected using stratified sampling method. In order to determine the characteristics of the competent police intelligence, in addition to the study of the literature, we enjoyed the opinions of some I.R.I Police elites and experts (10 – 103 members) and then the questionnaire was developed. The purpose of this research is an application research and in terms of nature and method it is a combination of quantitative (Survey-Descriptive) and qualitative (Discovery) research.Research Findings
the findings of the study, investigating the theoretical literature and experts’ opinions, suggest 27 intelligence components for successful police. The most important ones are sagacity, resiliency, politeness in behavior, effective communication, companionship, creativity, etc. The content validity of the components of the questionnaire indicates that all of the components in the experts’ opinions are considered as intelligence components of a successful police in a way that the calculated t for every individual component was statistically significant. According to the factor analysis, the dimensions of the emotional intelligence including social skills, emotional self-awareness and empathy were recognized. All of the individual dimensions had an acceptable reliability coefficient based on the calculated alpha and there is a significant difference between different groups in these dimensions. Conclusion and Discussion
although the dimensions (classification) of emotional intelligence for the competent police differ from previous studies, most of its components were effective in police success. The importance of these components was greater in border, law enforcement, and counter-intelligence and intelligence groups than traffic police group. According to the sample mean, the role of these intelligent factors in officers’ success was greater in border group than law enforcement group, in law enforcement group greater than counter-intelligence group, and in counter-intelligence group greater than intelligence. This issue is of great attention and importance considering the fact that the sequence of the mentioned groups is in a way that the upper groups have more military and disciplinary dimensions. Keywords:
