Relationship between Presence in Virtual Space and Modern Identity

This (research) paper reviews the impacts of presence in the virtual space on modern identity formation of user students at various university levels. The contextual framework of the research comprises modernity components from the viewpoints of Giddens that is time and space, trust, risk, reflexivity, personal relationship and self-identity. The findings of the research show that the experience of presence at virtual space brings about changes in some aspects of the students’ identity and formation of a floating and reflexive identity.
