Quality of Life of Burn Patients after Discharge from Shahid Motahari Hospital in 2013

Introduction &
Objective
The quality of life is a good feeling of satisfaction or dissatisfaction with those aspects of life that are important to the person involved. This study was conducted to determine the quality of life in patients with chronic burns. Materials and Methods
This descriptive cross-sectional study was done on 150 burn patients with a minimum history of 6 months. Data was collected، using a demographic questionnaire and a QOL questionnaire in burn patients (BSHS). Sampling was done with purposive sampling using the available method. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics، statistical tests ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results
Quality of life، in the physical status، was significantly different with the history interval of 6 months (P=0. 001)، marital status (P=0. 005)، job (P=0. 001)، the place of living (P=0. 00)، and education level (P=0. 004). Quality of life in emotional status (9. 3% were unfavorable and 42. 7% relatively unfavorable) and overall it was relatively unfavorable. As far as social status was concerned 16% were unfavorable، and 45. 3% were relatively unfavorable، and overall were relatively unfavorable. Conclusions
The quality of life in the study population was relatively unfavorable. This could be due to the effect of burn on the mental image of burn patient. Life skills، effective communication skills، establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships and coping with emotions and coping skills is recommended for these patients.Keywords:
