Influence of ICT on the Relationship between Place and Performance of Iran Accommodation Facilities

Accommodation Facilities are one of the main elements of Tourism value chain and one of the most dynamic sectors of the industry because wherever a tourist travels he/she needsa place for sleeping and taking rest. Place of hotel is one of the main components in the choice of hotel and even choice of tourism destination by tourists which has been neglected in the tourism and hotel industry literature despite its high importance. This paper aims to investigate the influence of place and geographical location on hotel performance and Information and communication technology (ICT) role in justifying this probable influence. It was written based on literature review and quantitative analysis of some secondary data series. Finally, relationship between distance and performance indicators was confirmed i.e. the more distant the hotel from the city centers the lower the performance indicators. Moreover, acceptance of ICT results in the improvement of hotel performance indicators. Also the justifying role of ICT between distance and performance was approved.
