Contributory Factors to the underdevelopment of the tourism industry in Kohgiloyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province

In this study, factors affecting underdeveloped tourism industry in Kohgiloyeh and Boyer- Ahmad has been studied. Five factors of the lack of services and infrastructure, problems of seasonal demand, weak marketing and advertising, social and cultural barriers and the multiplicity of decision centers as issues related to the underdevelopment of the tourism industry in Kohgiloyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province were introduced. To address the relationship of these factors on the underdevelopment of tourism, five hypotheses were formulated and to test the hypothesis, Statistic tests such as Spearman correlation test, t-test and ANOVA analysis of variance was used. The study population is consisted of experts and stakeholders of tourism industry in Kohgiloyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province and required data were collected by questionnaire. The results show that there is a meaningful relationship between the lack of infrastructure and services and underdevelopment of Kohgiloyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Tourism industry as well as the problems of seasonal demand, weak marketing and advertising, social and cultural problems and the multiplicity of decision centers with underdeveloped tourism industry of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad.
