Assessment of Teaching Professional Ethics Dimension of Faculty Members from Viewpoint of Students of Medical School of Shahed University

Abstract:
Background And Objective
Any job contains ethical codes that it is proportionate with itself special structure that called professional ethics. Universities professors as people who are responsible for education and training of students, must be aware of teaching professional ethics and with commitment to that, guarantee safety of teaching-learning process. This study had done with the object of assessment teaching professional ethics dimension of faculty members from viewpoint of students of medical school of Shahed University.
Materials And Methods
This descriptive-sectional study involving 90 students had been performed that were selected by stratified random sampling method. Research tool was a researcher made questionnaire containing 6 dimension and 48 items that it's content and face validity had approved from experts viewpoint and its reliability was determined 0.92 by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Data analysis was carried out by using SPSS 20 statistical software and with help of descriptive statistics and one-sample-T test.
Results
Personality characteristics of students (3/40±0/71), dominance on content (3/39±0/79), mastery of teaching methods (3/33±0/86), recognition the different aspect of learner (3/04±0/82), standard evaluation (3/42±0/86) and commitment to the University regulations (3/63±0/83) that are teaching professional ethics dimension of faculty members, had been evaluated in higher limit of average level.
Conclusions
Endeavor in the direction of preparation and codification of professional ethics charter of teaching in universities with the assistance of authorities and experts on the one hand and putting that in curriculum content of in-service teachers on the other hand, it can help much to improving this situation.
