Western Policy against Revolutionary Movements

Author(s):
Abstract:
Revolutionary movements are very important actors in politics of our time; even if we may think they have come into place in response to the hegemonic and exclusive policies of the West. During nineteenth century, they showed to be very weak. In twentieth century, they come to the scene very strong. In first half of the century, it was Marxist movements to reach political power and challenge the West. In the second half, and especially after September 11, it has been the Islamic movements to be seen with the same capability. Here, the main problem is how the West sees these revolutionary movements against itself and, then, how reacts to them. In analyzing this problem and realizing master policy of the West, we utilize the conceptual framework of the ‘Western order’ and its hegemonic dimensions as final goal of that order will be referred and discussed.
