Qualitative Phenomenon of Gro (Eloping Marriage) in the Village of Gro, Kalat

Abstract:
The present study describes and examines the Gro (eloping marriage) in the village of Gro, Kalat. The method was Grounded Theory and the techniques were deep interviews and participant observation. Population under study is young boys and girls who escaped together to marry in the village of Gro, Kalat. In this research purposive or theoretical sampling was used. For better and deeper understanding of this phenomenon, Information collected from a number of residents living in the village, indicated that parents of girls and boys who escaped to marry, their family members, relatives, and their close friends had an intimate relationship with them. Findings obtained showed 7 major categories including intergenerational conflict, instrumental look, and Gro, the role of modernization elements, romantic love, envy, learning and reinforcement, and wedding in Gro. The results showed this kind of marriage was not among any of the most common marriage categories. The theory in a three-dimensional model included conditions, interactions and outcomes that indicate final Grounded Theory.
