A survey on prevalence of Leptospirosis and it ́s serotype in livestock in Guilan province

Abstract:
Leptospirosis is one of the most important zoonosisDiseases in Guilan province which caused by serotype of Leptospira spp .In This survey, 800 serum samples fromthree areas of guilan (central, east, west) were collected and examined by micro agglutination test method. 182 samples (22/75%) showed positive reaction to leptospirosis Serological test revealed five serotypes includings grippotyphosa, icterohaemorragia, sejerohardjo, pomona, canicola and grippo typhosa had the most percentage (30/33%). Peak of serotype titer was 1:200 (45/9%). Prevalence rate in pirbazar of Rasht city (Centraarea), Lahijan and sialcal (east area), sowmaesara (west area) was 32/58, 28, 26/3 Percent respectively .There were no significant differences among them. There were no statistical significant differences among ages, sex and seasons although the highest rate were in 3-4 years (29%), females (24/46%) and spring (29/36%).
