The Relationship Between Perceived Parenting Styles and Emotional Intelligence and Social Adjustment in Male Students

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between perceived parenting styles and emotional intelligence and social adjustment of students in secondary schools in the region 2 of Tehran.
This study is a correlation. The target population included all male students in high school students of region two, Tehran. 230 persons were selected through random sampling. Inventory responded with perceived parenting, emotional intelligence and social adjustment bar bell, data were collected. Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise regression was used to analyze the data.
The results obtained showed that there is a relationship between the power of rational social adjustment and this is a positive correlation. Between the permissiveness and social adjustment and that there is a positive correlation. Between the authoritarian and social adjustment and that there is a negative correlation. The next variable is the emotional and social adjustment and that there is a positive correlation.
Based on the results, it can be reasonably concluded that people who perceive their parents with the authority of a higher level of social adjustment. This style against two other styles (authoritarian and permissive) increases the children's social adjustment. People with high emotional intelligence, better relationships with the people and more mental health. So the ability of people to communicate properly and catch them with their emotional intelligence community has a positive correlation.
