Economical Functions of Islamic State in Historical Context

Message:
Abstract:
In studying the concept of Islamic state, whether in theory or in practice, one can find some examples. Islamic states by which we mean those states that are based on ShiÝi school of thought or attributed to ShiÝism, have had different functions and objectives which have made distinctions between governments possible. On the other hand, the functions of Islamic states are also suffering from the blight of rulers’ misconduct, which, in turn, results in their unstable establishment in the geography of the Muslim world. This, in turn, has brought about an inappropriate management, or rather an inefficient administrative system (a bureaucracy of some kind). Ensuring security and administering justice are the two objectives which have received more considerable attention than other objectives. In contrast, in the field of science, we have witnessed the ShiÝi jurists’ efforts from the period of legislation to the present time. This marks a theoretical distinction between a conceived Islamic state and present states in terms of function, fundamentals and structure. All the abovementioned issues can be traced in the efforts of ShiÝi scholars in establishing a government, whether in theory or in practice.
