The Application of Nanotechnology in Traffic Signs and Sign Posts with Self-Cleaning Properties with Lotus and Its Impact on Reducing Accidents

Abstract:
One of the most important issues in transportation engineering is the use of vertical signs, horizontal and road-safety equipments that is used for giving better guidance to road users, preventing accidents and reduce injuries of traffic accidents. Accident and heavy traffic is a result of lack of proper vision, especially in reverse weather conditions such as heavy rain and dust, the need to optimize and increase the efficiency of the traffic signs clearly visible. There are obstacles and problems in the traffic signs that them with negative results caused by the improper viewing will follow. These barriers may be due to turbid by smoke, dust and rain, muddy and acid and so on. Barriers to cover it or part of it which disturbs visible signposts, diagnosis and understanding of the message and the driver's reaction time delays. As a result, in addition to traffic, will increase the likelihood of accidents. The application of nanotechnology is one of those self-cleaning process. The use of self-cleaning surfaces increases durability, reduces costs and the time required for maintenance of signs, in addition to the reduction of accidents caused by drivers will not see the signs. Given that the signs on roads such as the police, the deterrence of violations has shown, the use of nano-coatings signs and symptoms that one of the most important tools is the traffic, increase accuracy roads will be effective decision making and reduce accidents. In this paper to introduce a variety of boards, panel’ signs, self-cleaning surfaces, mechanism of action, application and examples of self-cleaning surfaces and its impact on reducing accidents have been investigated.
