The relationship between health related physical fitness components and Exploring Their Predicting Role on mental health in the police staff

Abstract:
Introduction
The aim of this study was to determine the assessment and relationship between mental health and health related physical fitness components in the police staff of Rasht.
Method
Participants (n=150; age: 31.8 ± 6.3; body mass index: 25.9 ± 2.9 kg/m2; percent body fat (%): 20.2 ± 4.6; VO2max: 41.9 ± 4.2 ml. min-1) randomlly volunteered according to a correlational method by the use of cluster sampling. Participants performed physical fitness tests and complet goldberg (GHQ=28) questionnaire. The Muscular endurance, ratio of waist-to-hip girth, blood pressure and flexibility were calculated by standard methods. Aerobic fitness assessed throght bruce test, handgrip strength was determined by hand dynamometer as well as their body mass index and fat percent assessed by bioelectrical impedance analysis.

Discussion
Regarding the importance of physical activity in increasing the employees productivity in an organization, expanding of physical activity, creating of sport conditions and facilities for the employees, and, involving the staff in physical activity in their recreation time is suggested, so this procedure will help to increase mental health.
