Finding an Optimum Collection of Projects for the Development of Makran Region using Two-level SWOT Analysis

Development and prosperity of south and south-eastern coast along Oman (Makran) sea has a great impact on the welfare of the people of this region, and is strongly tied up to our national interests. The article, using a two-level SWOT analysis identifies the main strategies for the development of Makran region, and also presents a set of projects for the realization of the strategies. Reform of administrative divisions in South and South East of the country, developing a mega-port along Oman (Makran) sea, Completion of Muharram pipeline to transport oil to Jask and accelerating Chabahar-Mash’had railway project are some of the main strategic projects proposed in this study.
