Socialization in International Relations Theory (instrumental rational calculation; rational role- play or beyond)
Socialization is among the most important concepts in International Relations Theory. Various theories of International Relations about socialization could be divided into two main categories. The first category consists of theories (like neo-realism and institutionalism) that believe socialization is a strategic calculation mechanism and the second category consists of theories(like constructivism and English School) that consider three generic social mechanisms—role playing, persuasion and Learning a new language —and their ability to promote socialization.
