The impact of social capital on organizational citizenship behavior: A study on mediating role of psychological empowerment and quality of working life (The case of Donyaye Eqtesad Daily)

The purpose of this paper is to study the mediating role of psychological empowerment and quality of working life on organizational citizenship behavior in media organization of Donyaye Eqtesad. The research population includes 172 employees of Tehran’s daily paper of Donyaye Eqtesad who were selected by simple random sampling method. Four standardized questionnaires were used to collect data: nahapiet and ghoshal social capital, spreitzer psychological empowerment, netemeyer organizational citizenship behavior and walton quality of work life. Findings from structural equation modeling (SEM) method showed that social capital through the mediating role of psychological empowerment and quality of working life has indirectly affect organizational citizenship behavior in this organization.
