A study of the relationship between personality characteristics and petrochemical corporation personnels job satisfaction in Tabriz

Abstract:
The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between personality characteristics and petrochemical corporation personnel’s job satisfaction in Tabriz. The research method was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population included all the staff of petrochemical corporation (400 person), out of which 194 person using Morgan table were chosen as the sample size. The method of sampling was random stratified. To collect the data, two standard questionnaires Bray & Rothe’s job satisfaction and NEO-FFI personality were used. Using SPSS software and inferential statistics such as pearson’s correlation coefficient, stepwise regression, the hypotheses and questions were tested. The results showed that there was a significant positive difference between the conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and job satisfaction. There was a significant negative difference between neuroticism and job satisfaction. There was no significant correlation between openness and job satisfaction.
