The Sea Silk Road: Cultural and Civilizational Opportunities

Given the significance of communication in the present era, this study aimed to investigate the ways for increasing cooperation and convergence among the countries in the Persian Gulf region. It also examined the effects of reviving the sea Silk Road on the relationships among these countries and their joint activities in the fields of culture and civilization. The findings of this research, which was conducted based on regional convergence theories and constructivism, demonstrate that the revival of this road can initially result in increasing and consolidating the bases for communication, economic relationships, and tourism among the countries in the Persian Gulf region. The expansion of such relationships, in turn, can lead to the change of the picture such countries and their nations have from each other and, consequently, promote the level of their cooperation and relationships to the level of political and cultural affairs.
