A Study of the Aesthetic Aspects of Verbs in Bustan

Author(s):
Abstract:
Paying attention to Saadi's Bustan from an aesthetic viewpoint, proves that despite the fact that great value of this work is due to its ethical and social functions, yet rhetorical beauties and poetic techniques masterfully used by Saadi are the secret of immortality of Bustan. The potential of his poetry to violate linguistic norms in various areas of expression, originality, syntax, music, etc. is so artful that, while being simple and accessible, is inimitable. This paper seeks to study the artistic functions of verbs and the poetic presence in Bustan and demonstrate how Saadi’s poetic manipulation of verbs has given his language a more artistic form and has distinguished his literary work.
The study of this element showed that the aesthetic secrets of the use of verbs in Bustan are the following instances: removal of verbs, the use of verb puns and reciprocal verbs, the use of a series of consecutive verbs, the use of different tenses of the same verb, the use of the imperative form of the verbs, precedence of verbs, separation of verb components, etc., which the author seeks to discuss in this paper.
