The Mediating role of Commitment in Relationship between Identity styles and Eudemonic and Hedonistic Well-Being

The aim of current research was to investigate mediating role of commitment in relationship between identity styles and eudemonic and hedonistic well-being. A number of 320 male and female students (age mean= 20.76 and S.D=2.16) were selected from different faculties of University of Tehran via multistage cluster sampling method. The Identity Style Inventory version 4(ISI-4) of Philips and Pitman and Keyes Well-being were used. Using path analysis as finding showed, the acceptable fitness with the theoretical model. Result showed; the informative style had direct and significant relation with eudemonic well-being and indirect relation with both well-beings from commitment way; the normative style had direct and significant relation with hedonic well-being and indirect relation with both well-beings from commitment way; the avoidant/diffusion style had negative relation with eudemonic well-being via commitment.
