UNESCO and Violation of Human Rights in Iran
Recently, one of the committees of UNESCO called Committe on Conventions and Recommendations held a session to handle some complaints claiming the violation of human rights in Iran in the fields of education, science and culture, propagation of ideas and freedom of expression and opinion. Given the important role of this organization in some issues related to human rights, this article presents an overview of UNESCO and its jurisdiction on human rights issues and also the tasks of above-mentioned committee to make the reader familiar with the subject. Undoubtedly, this work can contribute to the better understanding of human rights issues and the institutions in charge of their promotion.
