Abstract:
The governments emerging from the revolution are confronted with continuity and discontinuity. Therefore, after the victory of the revolution the preservation of political power as one of the achievements of the revolution is an important debatable issue. In Iran, the Islamists were able to preserve political power against political crises and the government continued for more than thirty years. While in Egypt, they were vulnerable against political crisis and were put aside from power. Therefore, the main thrust of the present paper is to study the reasons for the continuity of political power by Islamists in Iran and the failure of their political counterparts in Egypt to preserve their government after achieving power. The hypothesis of this article is that, the inefficient role of leadership of Egyptian Islamists, the lack of their illogical interaction with the Army and their inability to build system were the main factors for their failure. Descriptive-analytical method has been used to analyze the data collected through documental method.
