Needs Assessment Survey: A Case of Female Junior High Schoolers Parents

Abstract:
This research was carried out to identify the educational needs of parents of female junior high Schoolers in Ilam Province. The sample size was determined to be 338 based on Morgans formula and the participants were chosen through multi-stage sampling method. For the purpose of data collection¡ a needs assessment survey was conducted in the following five domains: educational and social needs; physical and sanitary needs; psychological and academic needs; ethical and religious needs; and social and cultural needs. In this nonexperimental survey for the purpose of data analysis¡ descriptive (frequency¡ percentage and mean) as well as inferential statistics (Friedman Test) were used. The results showed that physical and sanitary needs (teaching students the sanitary habits and teaching parents the sanitary care during adolescence) were evaluated to be the most important ones based on the parents opinion. Ethical and religious needs¡ psychological and educational ones¡ social and cultural needs and social and cultural ones were respectively evaluated to be less important.
