The Predictive Role of Irrational Communicative Beliefs and Love Components in Marital Disenchantment of Married Women

The aim of this research was to study the predictive role of irrational communicative beliefs and love components in marital disenchantment among women referring to counseling centers in Shiraz, Iran.
Statistical population of this study consisted of all women who referred to these centers due to marital disenchantment; and the sample comprised of 203 women, who were selected through random sampling. The instruments used in this research were Relational Beliefs Questionnaire, Love Components Questionnaire, and Marital Disenchantment Questionnaire.
Results of synchronous multiple regressions showed that irrational relational beliefs positively predict marital disenchantment, while love components negatively predicted marital disenchantment of women. Pearson correlation test showed that there is relationship between the background variables (age, duration of marriage, level of education, and number of children) and marital disenchantment.
