Scaffolding: A way for supporting learners in e-learning environments

Abstract:
Introduction
One of the effective ways to help learners improve their learning in learning environments is scaffolding. Scaffolding can be defined as teachers, other learners and resources support of learner on tasks that cant be done alone. Experts strongly demand scaffolding to be used to help learners on abstractive and complex issues. The aim of this study is to examine the scaffolding for help learners in order to overcome lack of skills needed for learning.Method
This is a review article and findings were extracted by examining relevant resources in scientific databases like Science Direct¡ Ebsco ,Emerald & Sage in a period 2000 to 2014.Findings: In this research, after a literature review, Scaffolding design strategies in e-learning environments were investigated.
Conclusion
In e-learning environment, besides important factor of effective instructional design, supporting learners by using scaffolds is essential. Technological scaffolds can provide procedural and metacognitive supports for processes classroom and therefore support the learning process.Keywords:
