Identify, Classify and Prioritize of Iranian Forests Services

Ecosystem services provide physical, cultural and economic interaction with human and natural areas. Identify, classify and prioritize of ecosystem services are guidance for policy makers and how to use natural resources. Classification system of TEEB was used in this project as the basis for Iranian forests services. The first phase, identify model of functions, services and macro-services was developed base on criteria and indicators of forest structure. So, 18 criteria and 42 indicators in natural structure and two criteria and 10 indicators in human structure were divided. To determine the relative importance and priority services of the forest ecosystems was used Delphi method. The results showed that the forest natural structure 44 and in human structure 11 services are programmable. So, macroservices including regulating, habitat, cultural and supplying has the highest priority. Water production, control of soil erosion and outdoor recreation are the highest priority and importance among total services. Evaluation criteria and indicators of forest structures and their services showed that criteria`s percent canopy with 18 services in four macro- services is the most important structure criteria in Iranian forests. The most frequent impact of structural criteria in both natural and human sectors for creating services is in the cultural macro- services and lowest it is in regulating.
