Comparative the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral based mindfulness therapy group and mindfulness in reduction symptoms and improve the irritability and focus of chemical veterans with PTSD in Tehran state

Introduction
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is considered as a disorder that is associated with the trauma and stress which is expressed in people who exposed to severe harmful events. The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of combination of Mindfulness and Cognitive - Behavioral therapy and mindfulness on reduction symptoms of PTSD veterans.
Method
This study was quasi-experimental with pre-test, post-test design. A total of 30 war victims with PTSD caused were randomly assigned to two experimental groups and one control group. First Experimental group received combination therapy (CBT) and mindfulness for 8 session of 90 minute and the second group received mindfulness therapy. Clinical interviews, and questionnaires of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD Check List for DSM5(PCL) were used to collect data. There were analyzed using multivariate analysis of one-way covariance and using SPSS software.
Results
there was differences between the effectiveness of mindfulness therapy and a combination of cognitive - behavioral therapy on alleviation of the symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder. The multivariate analysis of covariance was used. Discussion showed that there was significant difference between mean scores of compared groups in terms of aspects of PTSD symptoms.
Discussion
there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of symptom reduction. The control group did not change, but the therapy intervention in two treatment groups reduced the severity of symptoms. Although mindfulness intervention was effective in reducing symptoms, but combined approach was more effective because of its comprehensive features.
