This research explores the psychological defense mechanisms in "Pol-e-moalagh" novel written by" Mohamadreza Bayrami". Bayrami works are more in realistic style. Pol-e-moalagh is a war, social and Psychoanalysis novel. This novel is written based on Bayrami experience of the imposed war, as he encountered a destroyed bridge in the region Tele zang in the midst of mountains in Lorestan. This novel can be studied in different aspects like Freud psychoanalysis; one of the most important components of the defense mechanisms in Freud's theory is when the patients feel anxiety and use these mechanisms. As war is a source of enormous stress, anxiety, and failing, so willingly or unwillingly; this component can also be seen in war works. As most researchers neglect this topic in imposed war , this study aims to analyze the personality of the Nader based on the theories of Freud and use varieties of defense mechanisms in order to improve his mental state. Since few studies disposal about war novels, especially from the perspective of psychoanalysis. This article shows that some of war novels are the countless capacities for psychoanalysis analysis especially in defend mechanisms . At the end it shows that Nader can control his neuroticism by using these defense mechanisms.
