Social Tendency in Al-Mizan fi Tafsir al-Qur an

In addition to devising verdicts on individuals’ affairs, the Glorious Qur’an also focuses on social issues. The interpreters of the Holy Book throughout the 14th and 15th centuries (After Hegira) spent tremendous efforts to elaborate on the social aspects of the Qur’anic teachings. The past two centuries’ developments, there forms movements and the Muslims’ return to Qur’an have led to focusing onvarious social issues and this in turn has led to the entry of those issues into Qur’anic interpretations’ realm. This article, therefore, analyzes Allameh Tabataba’ie’s interpretative views from a social perspective.
